RV industry has been ripping people off with poor products for years, at least they use to last!
First they chop a hole in the living area ceiling, then they put a motor, fan and compressor in the hole, directing the noise into the living area. Absolutely brilliant.
So now you have a vacuum cleaner running in the RV powered by a lawnmower under the unit!
For my Toyota I modified a window AC to fit on the roof. In my new to me Roadtrek I installed a LG9500 inverter AC, this AC is wonderful especially at night in sleep mode! The Roadtrek is designed for a window AC.

Leveling app display on android radio head.
Looking around the net and trying to figure out how or if I can send or view my phone leveling app on my new android head unit.
Head is a Atoto 9 inch A6 PF
Not sold on leveling app yet but it does seem promising. Any input appreciated.

They have been selling low quality generators and AC to RV'ers for years, it is interesting to see some of the new products coming on the market. I modded a window AC for my Toyota.
Noise, first they put a hole in the roof and then install the electric motor, fan and compressor in the hole. Simply ducting the intake and cooled air would reduce noise a lot, very inexpensive to do during construction.

I haven't had it happen, but it happened to my parents fairly frequently in the 80's. At the time my dad worked in the service department of an RV dealer. In talking to the salesman where he worked he found out that sales people from certain dealers would drive around asking people if the wanted to sell.
Happened to my bud Fred, they did not want to buy it they wanted to steal it. Probably a $10-$12K RV, they offered him $1500

I have a camera door bell, I have a home security system which also includes the RV, I have a home surveillance system. I recently put a sign on my door that says ATTENTION, if you are not a friend, neighbor or making a delivery do NOT ring the bell or knock on door! Still had one banging on the door!
When I get the calls, I open the front door and ring the bell, then tell them give me a minute someone is at the door and set the phone down!
I do suspect that they buy lists of the elderly and target only us.
I’d suspect telling them to F their hat or pretending to speak an Asian language, or my favorite when the kids were little, hand the phone to a toddler and let them talk to “uncle Henry” on the phone (fun game when you’re drinking btw) would get you less call backs than some polite seemingly legitimate excuse.
What I wonder is the telemarketers now that even if you answer (in Engrish) don’t ever talk or respond. How you gonna sell or scam someone if you don’t try? Is it some other sort of phishing to verify the number is attached to a person?
Poom pood pasa thai die mi ****? My go to when I don't want to talk to someone.

An FBI report shows crimes against elderly was up 84% in 2022. Got me thinking why am I approached so much. So did some searching and found they are using tax records and marketing data to find elderly victims.

Unsolicited want to buy your RV people
OK I am paranoid, I was not born this way it is an acquired trait. I live in a small out of the way neighborhood and the likelihood of someone just driving by and seeing my rv is rather slim.
I see people post that someone has stopped by and wanted to buy their RV and they are excited. I think they should be very cautious. I poked around the net and found very little on this so looking for some input.
Like I said I live in a small out of the way neighborhood in FL, in winter we get a deluge of door to door sales people from solar setups, roofs, windows. I no longer answer the door, if I am outside when they approach I ask to see their soliciting permit and if they cannot produce one I tell them I am calling the police. This past winter after the hurricane it was about 2 a week!
Anyway last month I had 2 different people stop and ask if I wanted to sell my RV, I am quite rude and tell them to get lost. Any input on this.

RE: generator damages AC, other electornics
Nothing special about the Champions. Every manufacturer has a similar warning and similar risk of damage.
How exactly would a generator know it was getting ready to run out of fuel until the instant there was no fuel? And how would the generator do a “smart shutdown”? It’s the equipment that needs to be turned off.
The answer is simple: Pay attention to how much fuel you have and shut equipment off to refuel before the tank is empty.
I read an article where they tested the various clones against a Honda. Real testers with equipment, not Joe with a Kill a watt meter. You are correct the clones are poor copies. Lost the bookmark to the testing.
I try to shut my AC off before shutting down generator but run out of gas on occasion. Much less since I added extended run tank. No damage in over 20 years of Honda use. New AC LG 9500 dual inverter has me a bit concerned.

Wi-Fi, Blue tooth antenna question.
Purchased a Atoto A6PF for my 02 Roadtrek and trying to muddle my way through the instructions.
One connector has a large yellow plug for rear camera, I got that one. Then there are 3 wires labeled Wi-Fi, Blue tooth and parking brake with little clear plastic pieces on the end.
Are the little plastic caps the antenna or do they have to be connected to something?? Cannot get picture to post?

I spent half the night trying to figure this out. It looks like the cheaper units use RCA and accorded to the internet the RCA should not be used outside. Although shrink wrap should make the connection water tight.
The better units use 4 pin aviation connectors and also carry the power for the camera. CAn buy RCA with a power wire also. Then they sell an adapter for 4 pin to RCA.
I was happy I figured it out and all ready to order and found there are AHD cameras and analog cameras, the head unit needs to be compatible with the camera. Analog will give the marking lines for parking and the AHD does not. So another evening spent figuring out which is which before ordering.

10 inch radio monitor
2002 Chevy Roadtrek. I bought a 7 inch back up monitor and can find no place I would find acceptable to mount it. The monitor comes with what appears to be a decent camera with a 4 pin connector. The easy way out of this would be a 4 inch monitor but don't think that would be big enough for my aged eyes.
I like to keep systems separate but looking at double din 7 inch radios with monitors. Then saw the 10 inch monitors w radio.
Doing some searching and it seems that the better cameras come with 4 pin connectors and the others have RCA connectors, or am I misreading something? Do any of the radio/monitors come with 4 pin hookup??
Any input on this would be appreciated.

There is not much in RV's that I am fond of, junk, garbage, **** are terms I can relate to. If my fridge went out. Fridge is only 2 years old, so I can count on it for another 2 or 3 years. I would find a 120 volt model install it. With an inverter and add a house battery or 2.

I agree, made for TT. I have used 2X10 for ages, I had holes drilled in mine so I could use them for for support when I needed to break lug nuts free. I have a Roadtrek and it is a PIA to level so time to try something else, worse that happens they end up in a campfire. After I remove the bolts of course.
